Dutch soprano Zinzi Frohwein is a member of the ensemble at Nationaltheater Mannheim, where she joined in the 2025/26 season. Her recent and upcoming roles include Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Silva Varescu (Die Csárdásfürstin), Sieglinde (Der Ring an einem Abend), and Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda (role debut), as well as Mimì in La Bohème and Antonia and Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann.

She studied at the Royal Conservatory The Hague and the Dutch National Opera Academy. From 2016 to 2019, she was an ensemble member at Theater Nordhausen, where she later returned frequently as a guest artist.

Her repertoire spans roles including Desdemona, Mimì, Rosalinde, Contessa, Donna Anna, Frau Fluth and Hanna Glawari. In recent years, she has continued her artistic development through private studies with soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek.
